The entry point of French Immersion has shifted from senior kindergarten to Grade 1. This change will be phased in as we implement our full day kindergarten program in all our schools by 2014.
Where space permits, French Immersion senior kindergarten will continue to be offered in some schools prior to the implementation of full day kindergarten. This will be re-evaluated on a yearly basis. We are currently working on a list of schools offering senior kindergarten for September 2012.
HWDSB's Out-of-Catchment rules will apply to all French Immersion sites. Junior/senior kindergarten students will attend their home school unless there is space in their French Immersion school through the Out-of-Catchment process. This will be determined after June 15. Spaces will be allocated to siblings first, then to lottery. The remaining spots will be filled in September.
